The Global giants like DreamWorks, Walt Disney, Warner brothers and Sony Entertainment have been outsourcing animation and VFx work to Indian firms. There have been many international production houses that are wanting to do a lot more projects in and with our industry. Indian Media and Entertainment Industry is catering its services to countries like America, Canada, U.S, France, Malaysia, Dubai, South Africa based companies.
The rising rate of investment by the private sector and foreign media and entertainment majors have improved India’s entertainment infrastructure to a great extent and in the coming years also India is expected to see a phenomenal growth creating enormous career opportunities in various segments like 3D Animation, Editing, graphic designing, 2D Animation, VFx, web designing, Gaming, Architectural designing, event management, advertising. Due to this increase in work, there is a significant demand for highly skilled and trained workforce that merges technical and artistic capabilities in the field of animation, VFx and gaming. Not only are there animation jobs available in the industry but several field where they are valued as well such as cartoon, production, website, game manufacturers who require animation artist.
As per the reports this sector is expected to register a growth of 13.9 percent touching approximately INR1964 billion by 2019.This means that the industry will require a highly skilled force to tackle the ever increasing demand from India. The report states that the spike in outsourcing activities has created demand for professionals such as character designers, key frame animators, 3D modelers, layout artists etc.
Studios, channels, advertising agencies, educational institutes, marketing firms and publishing firms are in constant lookout for trained people in these areas. Hence employment numbers in animation, VFx and gaming will see a positive growth.Those wanting to enter the field should be observant, innovative and have the ability to translate ideas into visual appealing designs.
